Tracy Henke: On her way out at Homeland Security?

Henke_sm     Newsday reports today that Missouri native Tracy Henke may soon be leaving her top job at the Department of Homeland Security.

Judging by the article, it sounds like Henke is being pushed on a long walk off a short pier.

Henke, a former aide to Missouri pols John Danforth, Kit Bond and John Ashcroft, was the DHS official who made grant decisions that cut big anti-terror money to big cities like New York and DC, and increased it to places like St. Louis and Kansas City. That aroused a huge furor on Capitol Hill earlier this year.

Earlier, Henke had caused consternation at the Justice Department, when she was accused of trying to bury a report on racial profiling.

She may be the only native of Moscow Mills, Mo., to be vilified by two liberal New York Times columnists: Frank Rich and Maureen Dowd.

By golly, let's not get rid of anyone who uses Homeland Security money to buy votes instead of protecting our Nation. What do you think these people are supposed to be interested in? Public sfety or something?

In the words of our beloved President, "I think that's naive."
