Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt appears poised to endorse Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney for president.
The National Review quoted Blunt as saying he would make an endorsement within a few days. Asked who he would support, Blunt said he had "a great deal of admiration for Governor Romney."
In the article, Blunt said he was eager to endorse a conservative candidate and that Romney is "the most conservative" of the credible contenders now running. Asked if fellow Republican John McCain was conservative, Blunt opted to talk about Romney.

The gov had better pay attention to MO problems if he hopes to be re-elected in 2008.

The real problems in Missouri, they've been delt with well...and better still with revenue up, things will be better still going into '08.
Or the made up problems that only show up on the op-ed pages of the Post?

This is good news for Romney, getting the endorsement of third-worst governor in the country!

Third worst? Skippy has gone up that much in the ratings?

I wonder if Blunt is aware of Romney's pro-gay stance in his previous campaigns.
Romney is way too tolerant to be the GOP nominee.

Two peas in the same pod, both will say whatever is needed to get the vote. Why would anyone vote for a leader who is a flip flopper without even explaining why they have flipped? Are people so foolish as to trust a flip flopper?
All who have been at one time worldly, and those who are, have experienced a flip flopper or two in relationships. Were you able to trust that person? No difference for any situation concerning one who flip-flops. It's always because they don't want to be straight with you, but at the same time want something from you to serve their needs, they just want what they want, with no consideration of what is honest. You men and woman should recognize this type person. Most have been there.
Gay marriages became legal in MA under Romney. Anyone out there so foolish enough to really believe that Romney feel that gay marriages should not be legal? It is so obvious that so many Republicans in Congress understand that they have better back off denying gays legal unions and or marriages because it is much more important that many of them in their party who practice same sex relations, keep it in the closet.
How could any of them voice a view so vocally against gay marriages the entire time that they were in control of both Houses, but when the time came to put up or shut up they FLIPPEDed-FLOPPED again, but worst, they still did not shut-up. They continued to deceive their base vocally about their stand on gay marriages and or legal unions.

I am surprised by this thread. I would have thought Blunt might look at Rudy and Rudy toured state with him. I would be surprised to see an endorsement this early.
As for the Blunt bashers, with the big excess in the state budget this year, you will see the revamping of medicaid that was promised. SOme of the fraud is gone, revenue is up and now you will see a program implemented that will be be more efficient and work better as promised in my opinion.
But MIssourians should have trouble complaining about their budget or their taxes that were not raised to get to this point.
