About KC Buzz Blog

KC Buzz Blog is a place to get local, state and national political news and commentary. It will provide links to documents, fund-raising reports, speeches and other political blogs. It will offer previews of The Star's politicial coverage and editorial and op/ed columns. The Civic Mall will help you track governmental bodies and legislation and contact lawmakers. At election time, Election Central will carry issues grids, ad watches, profiles and interviews with candidates and more.

Content for KC Buzz Blog will be provided by The Kansas City Star's political reporters and editors.

Readers are invited to comment on postings. But keep it civil or your comment will be removed. The Rules of Civic Engagement are posted below.

As for our blogrolls, just because we list a blog doesn't mean we agree with it. And if you find some of the content on a blog objectionable, you can let us know but should direct your complaints and/or anger at the blog author himself.

If you see a governmental Web site or political blog you want listed, just e-mail us and we'll consider it.

Rules of Civic Engagement

Comments are posted immediately and will not be edited. But please use good taste and courtesy. Absolutely no name-calling of politicians, government officials or others posting comments - it's unimaginative and besides, you can do better just making your point clearly and quickly.
When presenting factual information, take care that it is accurate and cite and/or link to sources where appropriate. Although we are not responsible for the content of the comments, we reserve the right to remove comments that are threatening, libelous, obscene or otherwise objectionable.
1. Comments should be signed with your real name or a nickname. If you choose a nickname, keep using it. Unsigned comments will be subject to quicker deletion than signed ones.
2. Comments signed as someone other than the writer will be deleted.
3. If you want your comment considered for publication in the newspaper as part of the weekly Best of KC Buzz Blog, give your real name. We have to verify your comment.
4. Again, no profanity or vulgarity, racially or sexually offensive speech.
