Great Response Kerry! That's how you respond to these political thugs.

Look Out America..Democrats Are Going To Be Heard in 2006 & 2008.

shrugging

Right out of the DEM handbook. Say something looney and if caught criticize Bush.

The message of his speech was clear. Low academic performance equals military!

Nice backpeddle!

Wasn't Kerry a soldier? So he's degrading himself? Can I be an uneducated (according to Kerry) soldier so I can take my poor education to Washington.

tsquare

Yeah, we hear you Democrats!

and the whole country hears you.

This just might cost you the election.

Way to go...

Kerry's speech

John Kerry beat the first (and only) Black (Ed Brooke,a Republican) elected to the US Senate when he won his first senate term. He married the wealthy widow of a deceased US Senator (Jack Heinz, also a Republican). What does he want from the American public?

Poor pitiful Republicans. They are getting demolished on their own record so they jump on one silly quote. Guess they will grab anything as their ship sinks.

Kansasdog

the 300 pound elephant in the corner is the fact that many of our troops are in the military because of their high school performance. Kerry states that and gets bashed.

shrugging

So you're are saying the he should be proud of saying only America's worst serves in the military. No one would ever choose to serve on behalf of the country which provides for their livelihood and protects their interests.

Poor pitiful Democrats. They are getting demolished on their own record so they jump on one silly quote from Rush Limbaugh.

Brooksider

The Democrats are getting demolished?? What planet are you living on? See you November 8th!

J-sizzle

Yea I mean its no secret that if you can't afford to go to college or you don't have the grades, the military is one of the only positive choices.

In fact, I was raised being told that if you don't go to school or work a good job you should go to the Army.

This strikes me a bit of a desperate stretch by my gop brothers and sisters.

Kansasdog

excellent sidestep, shrugging. Kerry didn't say anything wrong, and he certainly didn't say anything close to what you posted.

Distraction time from a White House that knows it's doomed if we focus on its actual record. Nice try Rove, but we're on to you.

royalfrog

Can you feel it, dems? The rising tide of christian conservatives roused out of the lethargy they have been in...They will be spoken to/reminded this Sunday by clergy, about their duty to vote their conscience in a few days. Namely, against the destruction of human life via abortion and stem cell research. Plus the spectre of gay marriage looms large..all of which the democratic party supports strongly. Now Kerry is blasting our men in Iraq, what a punk. (Yes, I am a veteran so he can stop that counterattack). He mentioned nothing about Bush when he said those words today...He said what he thinks about military people.....Thanks Mr Kerry.....The Democrats will lose this election, one they have been touting as a slam dunk...Republicans, won't that be sweet? Dems, what will you do when you lose? It will probably destroy your party...

KC Cicero

If John Kerry had shown such fire in August of 2004, we would have been spared another term of these draft-dodging kleptocrats. Back then, he just didn't appreciate how low they would go. Now we know what gutter-dwellers the Rove Boys are.

Give 'em hell, John!

LarrytheScrabbleGuy

Yep, KC, that's the irony of it for sure. I wish Kerry would have shot back in 2004. But now, I wish he'd shut the hell up and keep the spotlight on this year's candidates. If Kerry's the story instead of Bush's (or Talent's) mediocre record, then it's good for the GOP.

dh

As a former member of the U.S. Army I find his comment totally disgusting and insulting . He owes the entire Military a big Apology !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

royalfrog

I agree DH, but he won't do it.........

Brooksider

Royalfrog --

I'm hoping that you and the rest of the Christian Conservatives realize you've been taken for a ride. Dick Armey - former Whip of the Republicans in Congress --- recently called James Dobson and Focus on the Family "thugs". He's one of many in the Republican party who are going to come out firing against the Religious Right as soon as the Republican implode in this election. Also, even though I wish it was true, almost all Democrat candidates oppose gay marriage. Many of them, though, do support gay civil unions --- but ironically so does George Bush according to statements he made in 2004. The Bush administration has given nothing to Christian Conservatives and yet they still vote for them. Pitiful.

Realist

Might I suggest that all you Republicans/conservatives hold your breath while you wait for your apology?

Engawyer

GOOD FOR KERRY! AND BIG MISTAKE FOR THE GOP. ONCE YOU'VE LICKED A GUY, YOU SHOULD NEVER GIVE HIM AN OPPORTUNITY TO STRIKE BACK. YOU SHOULD JUST LET HIM SIT THERE LICKING HIS WOUNDS. KERRY IS STILL PROBABLY STEAMING FROM BEING SWIFT-BOATED OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE BY DRAFT DODGING BUSH.

NOW THEY ARE GIVING HIM A CHANCE TO GET SOME PAYBACK. TO SAY THE THINGS THAT HE WISHED HE SAID BACK THEN.

HERE'S TO JOHN KERRY, A TRUE AMERICAN HERO! F@#K POLITICAL CORRECTNESS -GET IT ALL OFF YOUR CHEST, AND CALL THEM OUT.

political moderate

I believe the comment was inappropriate. He should apologize. The Democratic leadership must indicate this comment is not the belief of the party or the country.

Old Drum

Kerry mangle his joke about Bush, but it is truthful. You don't get a good education and you lead your country into the quagmire of Iraq. That is clear.

What is most amazing is that unlike Bush/Cheney/Limbaugh/O'Reilly/and I assume Snow is that John Kerry has actually been in combat. He has actually killed another human being in a real war. Like Bush, he could have avoided going to Vietnam. In fact, his first tour in Vietnam was on a destroyer. Kerry volunteered for the swift boats. Cheney had better things to do and Bush relied on the kindness of his father's friends to get him into a National Guard unit. And, the chickenhawk Republicans, whose record on supporting the troops is indefensible, jump on him for mangling a joke.

The Republican Party cannot defend its policies so it takes statements out of context and make that an issue.

Pathetic. Pathetic.

Old Drum

Oh, and let's not forget this REAL disrepecting the troops and the putative reason they are in Iraq. Remember Bush at the White House correspondence dinner over a year ago.

At a black-tie dinner for Radio and Television Correspondents' Association on Wednesday, Bush poked fun at himself and his administration for among other things not finding weapons in Iraq.

At one point Bush showed a photo of himself looking for something out a window in the Oval Office. He said: "Those weapons of mass destruction have got to be somewhere."

After a few more slides, there was a shot of Bush looking under furniture in the Oval Office. Bush said "Nope. No weapons over there." Then another picture of Bush searching in his office. He said "Maybe under here."

What a knee-slapper! Now over 2800 US troops have died because Iraq had WMDs and when they weren't found, President Bush makes a joke about it.

Pathetic! Pathetic! Pathetic!
