UNKNOWN SOLDIER

It is a very sad day when we spend more time arguing over what Bush said, or Kerry said or whatver 100's more crooked politicians said about each other, what we need to do is tell them all that we are sick of their smear campaigns and for nice why dont they stand up for their own policies and actually tell us what they are going to accomplish and how they are going to accomplish it as opposed to rambling on about how bad the other guy screwed up. Lets take some time and consider who is going to be able to make a bigger difference in our government and who is going to be able to begin to repair the foreign relations nightmares that our country is suffering. After being a national guard member and being stuck in Iraq for the past 13 months it sickens me to think of George Bush spending his time arguing with other politicians over what they said or didnt say. How about spending some of his time trying to help support us troops in Iraq, maybe supply us guard members with the same equipment and supplies as the regular army or maybe stop signing ridiculous laws like the whole mexican fence bill, because know that you have signed the build a wall bill, when my three months of leave are up after returning from 13 months in Iraq, I will probably end up watching the construction of your big stupid fence. I mean come on its bad enough i got screwed as a guard member that was never supposed to leave U.S. territory since after all thats what the national guard was designed for "Protecting our Nation on our own land" but now Im gonna get stuck watching a giant fence be built for three months, and hey Mr Bush, guess who the heck is gonna build the fence, hmmm
Mexicans, why because they do better work for less wages and are not afraid to get there hands dirty working for a living. Signed one sad soldier........

UNKNOWN SOLDIER

WE HAD NOT BEEN ATTACKED AS BAD AS WE WERE ON 9/11 EVER DURING A DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENCY, IMAGINE THAT, MINI BUSH GETS IN OFFICE AND BOOM WORST ATTACK ON AMERICAN SOIL IN THE HISTORY OF OUR GREAT COUNTRY, AND WHAT DID BUSH DO ABOUT IT, NOT A THING PULLED OUT OF AFGHANISTAN FASTER THAN HIS DAD SHOULD HAVE PULLED OUT OF HIS MOM, THEN GETS US STUCK IN A UNENDING WAR IN IRAQ.

NATIONAL
na‧tion‧al  /ˈnæʃənl, ˈnæʃnəl/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[nash-uh-nl, nash-nuhl] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation

–adjective: devoted to one's own nation, its interests, etc.; patriotic: to stir up national pride.

guard  /gɑrd/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[gahrd] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation

–verb (used with object) 1. to keep safe from harm or danger; protect; watch over: to guard the ruler.

Combine that together: devoted to one's own nation, its interests, etc.; patriotic: to stir up national pride. to keep safe from harm or danger; protect; watch over: to guard the ruler.

Didn't see anything by definition that its limited to not leaving one country yet to protect one country's interest.

And again I remind you soldier you are a volunteer.

Rich kid hid out during Vietnam War...sex, drugs and rock n roll

Western

I am not going to attack any particular party, what I am trying to say is that I am sick of being lied to and cheated by ANYONE. The fact is all almost all of the politicians fall into this category. I am tired of the smear campaigns and finger pointing. We as a country need to realize where we are, where we want to be, and figure out how to get there. The past is the past, let’s learn from our mistakes as well as our accomplishments and move forward, FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

unknown soldier

The premise that the national guard was founded upon was to create a force of soldiers who would be available to protect our homeland from all invading forces, natural disasters and aid local governments to help control the civilian population during national immergencies and crisis. Bush changed the laws to make it possible to send the national guard members overseas violating the contract given to every enlisted guard member. On top of that forcing guard members to work twelve hour days here in baghdad versus the regular army who work their standard 8 hour days and get fully supplied while we are left to purchase much of our own body armour because our units are not supplied adequately because all available money is being spent on supplies for the full time soldiers. So spreading a bunch of dictionary terms on paper described as individual words that you cannot combine to make descriptions to categorize the definition of something that has more meaning to many soldiers than what Websters might have to say about what the National Guard is. Maybe if Bush had not screwed so many guard members by depleting our troop supplies available for guarding our homeland we might have better been able to rescue victims from Hurrican Katrina or to have been able handle the massive evacuation properly, its pretty sad to know that our countries forces are so depleted that we have to have troops sent back to the U.S. from Iraq to try and take care of our own countries problems. So tell me how using guard members for purposes other than what we were designed for is helping this country, because I sure cannot see it.

National Guard was designed to PROTECT government interests it has NEVER been stated that National interests stop at the border.

unknown soldier

Actually its in the guidelines set up in all contracts for all national guard members prior to President Bush's law changes.

unknown soldier

Actually its in the guidelines set up in all contracts for all national guard members prior to President Bush's law changes. I am not saying government interests stop at the border but the National guard was designed for protecting american soil, while active military was designed to go out and fight on foreign soil, that is why the guard was set up as weekend warriors because we are emergency use, we are not given the same ongoing training or extensive training as active duty soldiers, so why are we expected then to serve under the same conditions as active duty soldiers when we are undersupplied and under trained.

I am not saying government interests stop at the border but the National guard was designed for protecting american soil.

Again this does not stop at the border.

that is why the guard was set up as weekend warriors because we are emergency use, we are not given the same ongoing training or extensive training as active duty soldiers

That is why the guard is NOT on the front lines of attacking the enemies. It's dishonest for you to portray them as they are in that situation.

unknown soldier

I cant tell you all that goes on, but i can assure you that our infantry soldiers are on the front lines here in Baghdad everyday and our Infantry Supply Soldiers are transporting these soldiers to and from the front lines everyday dealing with IED's everyday and face as much of a threat as any other soldier in Iraq

buck

Ok, some folks just do not get it. It is amazing how you democrats have to chaange the story. Tony, lets get one thing straight. I served and was wounded in Iraq, I have the right to my opinion as do you. Kerry was wrong and I believe it shows how all democrats feel about the military.
